How do we navigate a world where power structures are increasingly absurd, economic inequality spreads unchecked, and capitalism has reached such extreme levels, that the words we once used to describe it no longer suffice?

Somewhere Under the Rainbow is a poetic and critical exhibition of these themes, drawing inspiration from the classic film The Wizard of Oz and its underlying political allegories. The exhibition weaves together fantasy, humor, and socio-political critique to reflect on the tensions of our contemporary era. The film The Wizard of Oz, based on L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, tells the

story of Dorothy, a Kansas farm girl swept away by a cyclone to the magical Land of Oz. There, she takes on a journey to destroy the Wicked Witch of the West, hoping it will allow her to return home.

A variation of mediums; paintings, video and sculpture, invites the viewer to step into a world where fantasy becomes a lens for understanding our society.

Imagine alternative futures in which the storm that sweeps Dorothy away might instead dismantle the systems that keep power in place.
